In June, the perceived inflation rate among Uzbekistan's population decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 10.2%, according to a Central Bank review based on a survey of residents.

Regionally, the highest perceived inflation was recorded in Tashkent city (12.3%) and Andijan region (12.2%), while the lowest was in Khorezm region (8.5%).

Among different population groups, the highest perceived inflation was reported by representatives of household services and transportation sectors (11.6%), and the lowest by students (8.8%).

By income level, perceived inflation indicators remained unchanged from the previous month. Among residents with incomes above 4 million soums, inflation was higher than the national average.

Respondents without income reported a 0.7 percentage point drop in perceived inflation to 9.3%.

In June, the share of respondents noting price increases for several key goods and services rose sharply. Specifically, those reporting higher gasoline and fuel prices reached 38% (+7 p.p.), electricity and natural gas – 31% (+6 p.p.), sugar and confectionery – 18% (+6 p.p.), and rice – 17% (+10 p.p.). The share noticing higher flour and bread prices slightly increased to 9% (+2 p.p.).

Meanwhile, the share of respondents perceiving higher fruit and vegetable prices fell significantly to 22% (-7 p.p.). The share noting higher meat and dairy prices also slightly decreased (from 52% in May to 52% in June). According to respondents, eggs, medical services and medicines, construction materials, and educational services became slightly cheaper.
