A delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education Sherzod Karimov signed a grant agreement with Canva at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France.
Under the agreement, more than 10,000 schools in the country will receive free access to the Canva for Education platform for three years. The total value of the grant is $20 million.
The agreement was reached during the “Transforming Education Summit +4” (TES+4) held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
Canva is a leading visual design platform founded in Australia, now used in over 190 countries. Its education section offers thousands of presentation templates tailored for students and teachers.
Additionally, the delegation signed an agreement with the Hachette Livre publishing group to expand cooperation in the supply of French language textbooks.
During a meeting with the leadership of France Éducation International, the parties discussed establishing a regional center for French language education for Central Asian countries in Tashkent, as well as a joint Uzbek-French competence center for French teaching methodology.
The French side proposed organizing the first regional training session for French language teachers from Central Asian countries in Uzbekistan.
