Uzbekistan's daily electricity consumption is forecast to reach 280 million kWh, with peak load up to 13–13.3 GW during the expected hot days, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported following a meeting of the Republican Headquarters.

The meeting discussed measures to ensure stable operation of fuel and energy facilities during the summer, uninterrupted power supply during peak demand, strengthening 24-hour operation of energy facilities, increasing the readiness of emergency crews, and accelerating planned repairs.

Energy system enterprises were tasked with ensuring reliable operation of power transmission networks and substations, preventing emergencies, and strengthening preventive control.

Faults at some substations in Tashkent and resulting emergency outages were also discussed. Responsible officials were held personally accountable for the shortcomings, and some managers were dismissed from their positions. The ministry did not specify which substations or managers were involved.

In anticipation of hot weather, loading and unloading of gasoline, diesel fuel, and liquefied gas must be organized under enhanced control, strictly adhering to industrial and fire safety requirements.

To reduce the risk of fire and explosion, loading and unloading of liquefied gas will be temporarily suspended during periods of high air temperature.

To ensure compliance, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Prosecutor General's Office, Uzenergoinspektsiya, and the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety will conduct enhanced inspections and control raids at energy facilities and fuel infrastructure across the country.

The meeting also addressed anti-corruption efforts and strengthening executive and labor discipline. The Ministry noted that employment contracts with employees convicted of corruption-related crimes are being terminated.

All system managers were strictly warned. Future meetings will critically assess the implementation of tasks, the actual situation in the regions, and the personal responsibility of managers.

For comparison, the absolute record for daily electricity consumption in Uzbekistan (excluding small-scale solar generation) is 283 million kWh. The previous summer peak was recorded on July 18, 2025, reaching 272.6 million kWh, while the winter record that year stood at 271.8 million kWh.
