Tashkent International Airport has launched a new ground-to-air cargo delivery scheme from China to Europe and Asia, named “Track to Air.” Umid Khamraev, head of the airport's cargo transportation department, told Podrobno.uz correspondent.
According to him, the program began operating after the opening of a new cargo terminal in March 2025. Under this scheme, goods from China are delivered to Tashkent by road, then reloaded onto aircraft for onward shipment to Europe and Asia.
Additionally, the geography of Uzbek agricultural exports has expanded. Previously, cherries and apricots were mainly supplied to Russia, but this year the United Arab Emirates and Oman have been added to the export destinations.
Transit cargo volumes through the Tashkent terminal are also growing. In particular, more than 100 tons of dried fruits from Afghanistan pass through monthly — mainly walnuts, pistachios, dates, and cashews. India remains the main market for these products.
According to Khamraev, e-commerce has become an additional driver of cargo flow growth. “After the pandemic, we have seen a rapid growth in e-commerce. The number of international shipments from marketplaces such as Ozon and AliExpress has increased significantly,” he noted.
