Tashkent, Uzbekistan – Podrobno.uz. According to a draft government resolution published by the Tourism Committee for public discussion, tour operators and travel agents in Uzbekistan's outbound tourism sector will be required to reserve at least $50,000 in a special fund to obtain a license.

The reservation of funds will become a mandatory condition for obtaining a license. Companies must maintain the reserve at or above the established level.

The fund's resources are intended to compensate tourists for material damage caused by inadequate services, as well as to cover expenses for temporary accommodation, food, transport, communication, evacuation, and repatriation to Uzbekistan.

In addition to reserve funds, the fund will be replenished through targeted guarantee fees for each sold tourism product, a portion of fines for licensing violations, donations, income from placing temporarily free funds in banks, international grants, and other legal sources.

The targeted guarantee fee will be 0.15% of the basic calculation value per tourist. The fee will be transferred via the National Tourism Platform before the tourism code is generated. Without it, the tourism product will not be included in the fund's guarantee protection system.

The draft resolution is currently under public discussion. Proposals and comments can be submitted until July 30.
