The Pop District Criminal Court in Namangan region has considered a criminal case against Odilkhon Ismoilov, founder of 'Rayxon oilaviy milliy taomlari', and others. This was reported by the press service of the Supreme Court.

According to the court verdict, Odilkhon Ismoilov and a total of 7 defendants were found guilty of crimes under several articles of the Criminal Code.

Odilkhon Ismoilov, 49, born in Namangan region, was sentenced to 8 years (7 years 11 months 28 days under Article 62 of the Criminal Code) of imprisonment.

The remaining 6 defendants received various prison terms based on their criminal actions. The court also ordered the material damage caused to be recovered from the defendants jointly.

The Supreme Court reminded that the parties have the right to appeal the first-instance court verdict to the appellate/cassation instance of the Namangan Regional Court within the procedure and timeframe established by law.

Odilkhon Ismoilov served as deputy chief imam-khatib of Tashkent city from 2010. From 2011 to July 2018, he was the chief imam-khatib of Shaykhantakhur district and imam-khatib of the 'Shaykh Zayniddin' mosque. In July 2018, the Muslim Board announced that Ismoilov was dismissed 'for spreading unconfirmed information via the internet and inability to perform duties due to illness'.

Since 2019, he worked at the 'Vaqf' charitable public foundation. In February 2019, Ismoilov was appointed imam-khatib of the 'Khoja Alambardor' mosque in Shaykhantakhur district. In September 2019, he was released from his position at his own request due to health issues.
