Uzbek authorities are accelerating privatization and seeking ways to restore production. Over 1,300 real estate properties, thousands of hectares of land, and state stakes in dozens of companies are set to be put up for auction in the near future.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev made the announcement at a video conference on the first-half socio-economic results and priority tasks for the rest of the year.

The meeting noted that 57 sectoral and 76 regional enterprises had reduced output since the start of the year, causing the economy to miss out on nearly 11 trillion soums worth of products.

In response, the deputy prime minister was instructed to analyze enterprise performance every ten days together with regional governors and industry heads. Business problems must be resolved locally without delays.

The Industrial Council was tasked with preparing proposals to compensate for production losses at 133 enterprises and restore output worth 11 trillion soums.

Special attention was paid to the privatization of state property. Currently, about 3,000 state facilities worth 22 trillion soums are already listed on electronic auctions. Regional authorities were criticized for weak sales of state assets.

A new privatization program will soon be launched, offering 1,300 real estate properties worth about 100 trillion soums, 8,000 hectares of land, and state stakes in 66 enterprises.

To attract businesses, purchase conditions will be eased: the down payment will be reduced from 30% to 15%, and the remaining amount can be paid in installments without interest.
