In the Akhangaran district of Tashkent region, officers of the Environmental Police have recorded an illegal hunt of a Siberian ibex. The violator was identified after attempting to sell parts of the rare animal's carcass.
The raid was conducted by employees of the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change together with representatives of the district internal affairs department. During an inspection in the Koksaray mahalla, law enforcement discovered the sale of parts of a wild animal carcass.
The investigation revealed that a local resident had hunted the animal without any permits, violating several legal norms — in particular, the laws "On Protection and Use of Wildlife" and "On Hunting and Hunting Management."
According to experts, the damage caused to nature exceeded 6 million soums.
Currently, the case materials are being prepared for transfer to court, which will provide a legal assessment of the violator's actions and determine the measure of responsibility.
Earlier, it was reported that two citizens of Uzbekistan will face trial in Latvia on charges of cruel treatment of a swan that resulted in its death.
