The Termez International Trade Center in Surkhandarya will expand its territory. The president announced this at a meeting on February 27.

Last year, the center was visited by over 800,000 Afghan citizens, with exports reaching $320 million.

The center's territory will be increased to 1,000 hectares. This aims to boost export volume to $600 million this year and $1 billion next year, while creating an additional 10,000 jobs.

A special prosecutor's office and internal affairs department will be established at the center to ensure legal compliance.

Goods and services traded at the center will now be classified as exports, with value-added tax applied at a zero rate.

The center opened on the border with Afghanistan in late August 2024. The free trade zone allows payments in US dollars, euros, rubles, and yuan. Afghan citizens can visit the center without a visa for up to 15 days.
