Tashkent, Uzbekistan – AH Podrobno.uz. A man wanted internationally on charges of extortion and other serious crimes has been extradited from Egypt to Uzbekistan to face criminal prosecution.

According to the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan, the suspect's location was identified during an international search. After confirming he was in Egypt, Egyptian law enforcement authorities detained him through Interpol channels.

The Uzbek side then submitted an extradition request. Following review, the competent authorities in Egypt decided to hand over the wanted individual.

After all necessary international legal procedures were completed, the man was handed over to officers of Uzbekistan's Interpol National Central Bureau, who brought him back to the country.

Earlier, three Uzbek citizens wanted internationally via Interpol were brought from Turkey to Uzbekistan. The men were detained in Istanbul and handed over to Uzbek law enforcement.
