Starting September 1, Uzbekistan has implemented a 30-day visa-free entry regime for a select group of Indian citizens. The new rules apply to holders of valid multiple-entry visas from a list of countries.

Indian citizens holding a valid multiple-entry tourist or business visa from Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, South Korea, Schengen member states, New Zealand, or Japan can now enter Uzbekistan without a visa.

An additional mandatory condition is the possession of an airline ticket for departure from Uzbekistan to their home country or a third country. Visitors may stay in the republic without an Uzbek visa for up to 30 days from the date of entry, but only within the validity period of their foreign visa.

The procedure was established by Presidential Decree No. 180. Earlier reports indicated that Uzbekistan and India had agreed to introduce a 30-day visa-free regime during talks between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Narendra Modi.
