Customs officers from the Tashkent region, in cooperation with the State Security Service, have thwarted an attempt to illegally export a large amount of foreign currency. The press service of the State Customs Committee reported this.

Two citizens of a neighboring country were walking through the Navoi border customs post when their behavior aroused suspicion. A personal search was conducted in the presence of witnesses.

One man was found with $80,000, and the other with $160,000. The money was hidden in the shin area and secured with tape.

In total, customs officers seized $240,000 from the individuals. It was noted that the currency was not declared during the oral interview and was not listed in the passenger customs declaration.

Customs inspections are currently underway regarding this incident.
