Uzbekistan, Tashkent – Podrobno.uz. The Children's Ombudsman conducted a monitoring study at the temporary detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Angren city, Tashkent region. At the time of the inspection, no minors were present in the facility.

During the inspection, conditions in the cells designated for minors were examined, including the state of sleeping areas, meal organization, compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards, and the procedure for providing medical care. The facility is designed for 51 people, with a separate cell allocated for minors.

The inspection found that the basic conditions meet minimum standards, but several shortcomings were identified.

In particular, the need to replenish medicine supplies in the medical office, provide the facility with a medical worker, and update the existing sets of bedding was noted.

Additionally, the need to update the library collection and allocate a separate room for minors to meet with relatives was recorded. Based on the monitoring results, the Children's Ombudsman sent recommendations to the facility's management to ensure the rights of minors.
