The Uzbekistan national team began the World Para-cycling Road Championships in Huntsville, USA, with two victories on the very first day of competition. Pokiza Akhmadbekova and Marjona Pardaboeva claimed gold medals in their respective classes.

Pokiza Akhmadbekova, competing in the H1 class, finished her race first and secured the gold medal, marking Uzbekistan's first top-tier award at the tournament.

Following her, Marjona Pardaboeva won another gold in the T1 class, also posting the best time in her heat and crossing the finish line first.

The championships are being held in Huntsville, Alabama, USA, and will continue over the coming days.

Earlier, the Uzbekistan para-cycling team had performed brilliantly at the Asian Road Championships held in Saudi Arabia.
