Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. Uzbekistan is planning to expand the list of security services for tourists, including offering bodyguard accompaniment to foreign guests, official delegations, and business representatives.

The possibility was discussed by the Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Tourism Committee. The agencies agreed to jointly develop new security measures for tourists.

The focus is on ensuring security on high-traffic routes, at historical and cultural sites, in hotels, and at recreation areas. The Security Department also presented new service formats that include preliminary risk assessment, route security organization, and rapid response in emergency situations.

In addition, there are plans to more widely use video surveillance systems, technical security equipment, and rapid response teams at tourist sites. Targeted security programs are to be developed for specific tourist destinations.

The Security Department noted that tourist safety must be ensured not only at individual sites but throughout the entire journey — from entry into the country to its completion.

Earlier it was reported that from January to August 2026, more than nine million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan — 21.1% more than in the same period last year. The largest growth was shown by tourist flows from China, Malaysia, and Japan.
