Uzbekistan has established administrative liability for physical or psychological violence against minors committed by teachers. The corresponding amendments were made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the additions, an offense will be considered the commission by a person entrusted with the duties of upbringing and education of minors in an educational organization of physical violence against them in the process of upbringing and education, as well as insults expressed in humiliation or mockery of them, if these actions do not contain signs of a crime or other established offenses.
Such actions are punishable by a fine ranging from 1 to 5 basic calculation units (from 440 thousand to 2.2 million soums).
Furthermore, individuals held administratively liable for committing physical and/or psychological violence against minors in the course of pedagogical activity will be prohibited from engaging in pedagogical activity for one year in: preschool educational organizations; general secondary and secondary specialized education organizations; vocational education organizations; and organizations of additional education for children.
These measures are aimed at protecting the rights of children and creating a safe educational environment that excludes any forms of violence and humiliation by teachers.
