President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in South Korea on a three-day state visit aimed at further strengthening strategic partnership between the two nations.

At Seoul Air Base, an honor guard was lined up and an artillery salute was fired in honor of the president. Shavkat Mirziyoyev was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Ku Yun Chol and other officials.

The president was also warmly greeted by Uzbeks working and studying in the Republic of Korea. Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke with his compatriots, inquiring about their studies, work, and future plans. During the meeting, they discussed ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, the aspirations of compatriots, and upcoming events within the state visit.

The president wished them success and expressed confidence that the modern knowledge, skills, and experience gained in Korea would contribute to Uzbekistan's development.

During the three-day visit, negotiations are planned between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in narrow and expanded formats, as well as meetings with National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong-sik, Prime Minister Han Seong-sook, and heads of major Korean companies and financial institutions.

In addition, the head of state will speak at the opening of the Uzbek-Korean Business Forum. On September 16, Shavkat Mirziyoyev will take part in the events of the first "Central Asia — Republic of Korea" summit.

Alongside the political and economic program of the visit, Days of Uzbek Culture will be held in Seoul and other cities of the country.
