In the city of Chirchiq, Tashkent region, a 17-year-old schoolboy was detained while receiving a parcel from Russia containing 852.2 grams of hashish. The State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan reported the incident.

The operation was conducted by the Customs Committee's Anti-Contraband Department in cooperation with the State Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of a "controlled international delivery" practice. According to the agency, the minor, born in 2009, was caught in the act of receiving the parcel from Russia.

During the opening of the shipment in the presence of witnesses, the narcotic substance was found hidden inside four tin cans. The total weight of the seized hashish was 852.2 grams. A subsequent search of the teenager's residence revealed electronic scales, small zip bags, and adhesive tape. The Customs Committee stated that these items could have been used for packaging and distributing drugs. All evidence was confiscated.

According to the committee, the seized amount of hashish is equivalent to more than 60,000 doses, with an estimated black market value of nearly $600,000. This case once again highlights the danger of drug distribution among youth.

The Customs Committee urged parents to pay more attention to whom their children communicate with on social networks and how they spend their free time. A criminal case has been initiated on this fact.
