Uzbekistan's U-23 national football team has advanced to the semifinals of the Asian Games. Ravshan Haydarov's squad defeated Saudi Arabia 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

The scoring opened as early as the 12th minute. Sardor Bahromov took a free kick, the goalkeeper parried the ball, but defender Dilshod Murtazoyev was first to the rebound and put Uzbekistan ahead — 1:0.

In the second half, Uzbekistan increased their dominance. In the 79th minute, Azizbek To'lqinbekov scored his goal, and in the 86th minute, Firdavs Abdurahmonov made the score emphatic — 3:0.

Uzbekistan's starting lineup for the match consisted of: Samandar Muratbayev, Saidxon Hamidov, Dilshod Murtazoyev, G'iyosjon Rizaqulov, Quvonchbek Xushvaqtov, Sardorbek Bahromov, Saidumarxon Saidnurullayev, Muhammadali O'rinboyev, Asilbek Jumayev, Azizbek To'lqinbekov, and Ro'ziboy Fayzullayev. Muhammadali O'rinboyev served as team captain.

In the semifinals, Uzbekistan will face the winner of the Japan vs North Korea quarterfinal match, which will take place on the evening of September 26.

Recall that according to the group stage results, Ravshan Haydarov's team accumulated nine points with a 9:1 goal difference and took first place in their group.

On September 22, in the final group match, Uzbekistan defeated Vietnam 2-0. Muhammadali O'rinboyev opened the scoring in the 5th minute, and Nurlan Ibraimov scored the second goal in the 67th minute.

Earlier, the team defeated the Philippines 5-1 and Kuwait 2-0. After the second victory, the Uzbek players secured their playoff spot ahead of schedule.

Thus, the Uzbekistan national team has won all four of its matches at this Asian Games.
