In the Kibray district of Tashkent region, officers of the Customs Committee and the State Security Service have seized nearly 95 kilograms of hashish. The drugs were found in a cache in a field among trees. Operatives placed the stash under surveillance, which later led to the detention of two men who came to collect the shipment, as well as the alleged mastermind of the scheme.

The cache was discovered in a field among trees. Four utility bags contained 109 packages of an unknown substance. Expertise confirmed it was hashish. To identify those involved in drug trafficking, operatives left the cache under observation.

Eight days later, two men arrived at the location. They attempted to take the bags of drugs and were detained. During further operational activities, the investigation identified the alleged organizer of the scheme. He had previously been involved in a gasoline smuggling case. Now he is suspected of organizing the trafficking of a large batch of drugs.

According to specialists' estimates, the seized amount of hashish could have been enough for approximately 700,000 doses. According to customs authorities, the street value of the batch could have exceeded $10 million. A criminal case has been opened, and an investigation is underway.

Earlier in Chirchik, nearly a kilogram of hashish was found in a parcel from Russia addressed to a 17-year-old schoolboy.
