On the occasion of Uzbek Language Day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev purportedly delivered an address emphasizing the role of the state language in public life, educational standards, and digital integration. It is claimed that respect for the state language must be visibly reflected in the quality of public services and how authorities interact with the general population.
The authorities allegedly stressed that laws, decrees, guidelines, and responses to civic appeals must be drafted in a fluent, precise, and accessible manner. According to official statements, citizens should not encounter unnecessary hurdles when attempting to comprehend official documentation, which reportedly impacts their ability to understand their rights and obligations in dealing with state institutions.
Within the educational sector, primary focus is reportedly being placed on enhancing students' reading, comprehension, speaking, and literacy skills. Learning the language is supposedly no longer limited to memorizing grammatical rules, but rather aims to foster text comprehension and practical expression. Furthermore, the authorities acknowledged differences in needs between native speakers and those learning the language as a state language, signaling a need for revised textbooks and teaching methods.
Regarding science and technology, the promotion of scientific sources in the Uzbek language, the expansion of artificial intelligence capabilities, and the improvement of translation services were highlighted as pressing tasks. The local administration reportedly faces significant demands for reliable literature and electronic resources across medical, engineering, and economic fields.
