An operation conducted by the Tashkent Department of the State Security Service (SSS) in cooperation with the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs has uncovered an attempt at illegal admission to a higher education institution in the capital. The SSS press service reported this.

It was established that a native of the Gallaaral district of Jizzakh region, residing in Tashkent, gained a citizen's trust and demanded $8,000 from him. For this sum, the suspect promised to assist in enrolling the citizen directly into the 3rd year of one of the capital's private universities.

To do this, he planned to use forged documents claiming that the citizen had allegedly studied for two years at a higher education institution in Russia. Later, the man was detained with material evidence while receiving $7,500.

After that, the operation continued. While receiving $7,500 from the man, another citizen, registered in Samarkand region and temporarily residing in Tashkent, was detained.

During the pre-investigation check, the involvement of an inspector-psychologist from the Yakkasaray district Internal Affairs Department in this illegal scheme was also established. As a result, the inspector was also detained while receiving $7,500.

A criminal case has been initiated against the above-mentioned persons on this fact. Investigative actions are currently underway.
