Tashkent has received 14 new train sets, comprising 56 cars, as part of the ongoing renewal of the metro’s rolling stock. The delivery was completed ahead of the 2026 academic year, according to the city’s metro authority.

The acquisition has allowed the metro to update nearly 70% of its carriage fleet. Modern next-generation trains are now operating on four lines, which has helped reduce headways, particularly during peak hours.

On the Chilonzor line, trains now run at intervals of 1.5–2 minutes; on the Uzbekistan line, every 3 minutes; on the Yunusabad line, every 4 minutes; and on the above-ground ring line, every 7–8 minutes.

The new rolling stock is expected to improve passenger comfort and help manage growing ridership more efficiently. Metro officials say further phased upgrades of the fleet are planned in the coming years.
