The head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, commented on the tragedy in the Namangan region, stating the need for the harshest possible punishment of those responsible and the preparation of proposals to tighten legislation.

She expressed outrage over the incident and noted that such crimes should be punishable by death. "Since the current law does not provide for it, we are preparing proposals to amend the legislation in order to maximize accountability," said Saida Mirziyoyeva.

According to the head of the Administration, punishment should be borne not only by the direct perpetrator but also by all persons who showed negligence and failed to ensure the child's safety.

Earlier it became known that the warehouse manager of a kindergarten in the Namangan region is suspected of sexual violence against a 5-year-old girl. A criminal case has been initiated under Part 4 of Article 118 (rape of a person under 14) and Part 1 of Article 112 (threat of murder or use of violence) of the Criminal Code. The suspect is in custody, and an investigation is underway.

The case is under the supervision of the children's ombudsman. Currently, specialists from the "Inson" social services center are providing psychological, medical, and legal assistance to the girl and her mother. The child is with her parents under their care.
