Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the International Labour Organization (ILO), as reported by Podrobno.uz.

The talks were attended by Andrzej Picard, Head of Actuarial Services at the ILO's Social Protection Department, Csaba Feher, Senior Economist at the IMF's Fiscal Affairs Department, and Himanshi Jain, Senior Social Protection Specialist at the World Bank. The participants reviewed key areas for improving the republic's pension system, taking into account international experience and the country's socio-economic characteristics.

Special attention was given to ensuring the long-term sustainability of the pension system, improving mechanisms for the formation of pension rights, expanding population coverage, developing the funded component, and adapting the system to demographic changes.

Furthermore, approaches to developing the architecture of the pension system were discussed, including harmonizing its components, managing pension assets and funds, and developing individual pension accounts. At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed the importance of continuing expert cooperation on pension reform.
