The President of Uzbekistan has announced new financial mechanisms to support the opening of private schools in districts with high educational demand. The presidential press service reported this.

It is noted that 800,000 children were admitted to first grade in 2026. This is 10 percent more than last year. By 2030, their number is expected to reach 1 million. Every year, 180,000−200,000 student places are being created through investment programs.

The President announced new financial mechanisms to support the opening of private schools in 52 districts with high educational demand. To establish a school in these areas, a 7-year preferential loan at 10 percent, a subsidy of up to 15 percent of opening and equipping costs, but not more than 1.5 billion soums, will be provided. Those who lease their building to a school will receive exemptions from land and property taxes.

In all districts, vacant state buildings will be leased free of charge for 10 years to open private schools. Half of the costs for passing international accreditation will be covered.

For parents whose children study in private schools, the non-taxable income threshold will be increased from 3 million to 6 million soums. This will allow families to save 6−7 million soums per year; tax authorities will introduce a system of automatic refund of payments at the end of each month.
