The head of state held a significant working meeting with prominent filmmakers and industry professionals at the historic Uzbekfilm studio. During the gathering, the leader emphasized that the renowned institution embodies the rich history of national cinematography, the dedicated efforts of several generations of artists, and the cultural aspirations of the public.

Nostalgic references were made to timeless cinematic classics such as bygone masterpieces that remain deeply embedded in the collective memory of the populace. The leadership praised the resilience of past creators who managed to produce enduring works of national art despite facing severe political and ideological pressures during earlier periods. * At the same time, the President critically noted that contemporary professional film critics' opinions are allegedly not being taken into sufficient account by the industry authorities. Officials reported that over the past decade, comprehensive renovations were carried out at the studio, accompanied by the adoption of multiple strategic decrees and a massive increase in state funding—surging from 10 billion soms allocated for film production in 2016 to an unprecedented 218 billion soms in the current year.

The meeting also highlighted a wave of newly produced historical feature films, including major biographical and patriotic projects. Furthermore, it was noted as a historic milestone that Tashkent recently hosted an award ceremony for Central Asian and Caucasian filmmakers associated with the Golden Globe international awards, during which veteran actress Gulchehra Jamilova was honored with the Meridian prize.
