On the eve of Teachers' and Mentors' Day, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced new initiatives in the education sector. Separate subject Olympiads are being launched for primary school students in Uzbekistan. Starting next year, winners of the district stage of the Olympiad among fourth-graders will receive computers, and their teachers will receive cash bonuses.

According to the presidential press service, teachers who prepare a winner of the district stage will be paid 10 million soums, the regional stage — 50 million, and the republican stage — 100 million. These measures aim to stimulate teachers and increase their motivation.

From the new academic year, 100 schools will open classes where mathematics, computer science, and natural sciences will be taught entirely in English. Teachers of these classes and educators of preparatory groups will receive a 100% salary increase. This step is expected to enhance students' competitiveness internationally.

The President also announced the introduction of a "quality index" in the secondary education system. Schools will be distributed into categories depending on the level of teachers and student results. Strong schools will be able to share their experience with others, and their teams will receive an additional 30% bonus. This system is intended to create healthy competition among educational institutions.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan has established the Abdullah Avloni State Prize to encourage outstanding educators at all levels of the education system. This award is designed to raise the status of teachers and recognize their contributions to society.
