Law enforcement officers in the Denau district of Surkhandarya region conducted a large-scale special operation to intercept over 41 kilograms of opium. Security forces stopped a Cobalt vehicle entering the region with a drug shipment, and then, using a controlled delivery method, detained the recipients of the cargo.

The operation took place on August 21 as part of the second phase of the operational-preventive campaign "Koradari-2026". Officers of the Surkhandarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs, together with representatives of the State Security Service and the district department of internal affairs, received operational information and stopped a Cobalt car heading from Tashkent region towards Denau. During the inspection of the vehicle, 41 packages of the substance were found.

After that, law enforcement continued the operation using a controlled delivery method. As a result, several people who came to pick up the substance were detained. One of them arrived with a grinder to cut out the hidden cargo from a gas cylinder.

A criminal case has been initiated under paragraph "a" of part 6 of article 273 of the Criminal Code. Recall that in Namangan region, law enforcement officers suppressed several cases of illegal drug trafficking, seizing about 2.6 kilograms of hashish.
