A concerning video has rapidly circulated across social media platforms in Uzbekistan, featuring animal control workers in the city of Nurafshon claiming they were allegedly instructed not to transport captured stray animals to shelters, but rather to eliminate them on the spot. Official confirmation or denial of these serious allegations from municipal authorities has not yet been provided, leaving the public in a state of growing anxiety and demand for transparency.

According to the individuals speaking in the video footage, the illicit directive purportedly originates from the city leadership itself. Furthermore, the workers claim that anyone unwilling to comply with these harsh and questionable methods is being pressured into resigning. Activists and animal rights advocates have urgently appealed to the Nurafshon administration to clarify whether such a directive actually exists, who authorized it, and how the accounting of captured versus sheltered animals is currently being maintained.

Community representatives are demanding an immediate investigation to determine whether animals were indeed killed prior to delivery and to establish the potential scale of the cull. This incident follows a similar recent controversy in Tashkent, where public outcry over the alleged mistreatment of dogs within the "Yunusabad City" area forced local authorities to intervene, eventually transferring around 20 surviving animals to the "Hayot" animal shelter.
