Two citizens of Uzbekistan who had been placed on the international wanted list were apprehended on Turkish territory. According to the press service of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, as reported by Podrobno.uz, the suspects managed to evade justice for a considerable period, raising questions about oversight.

Authorities claim that one of the detainees had been wanted since 2017 on charges related to armed robbery, effectively eluding investigators for nine years. The second individual is reportedly accused of fraud. The circumstances surrounding their prolonged concealment abroad remain subject to further clarification by officials.

The detained individuals have now been handed over to the competent authorities of Uzbekistan, where investigative and procedural actions are ongoing. Previously, the Uzbek regime's agencies also secured the extradition of six citizens from the UAE who were allegedly wanted through Interpol channels for various criminal offenses.
