In the Chirakchi district of Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya region, local authorities have taken strict legal action against a motorist who recorded and published a video intended to discredit traffic police officers on social media platforms. The case highlights ongoing efforts by the state to penalize unauthorized and derogatory recordings of law enforcement personnel.

The incident reportedly took place on October 5 near the Chirakchi dehkan market, where traffic inspectors had stopped the driver during a routine roadside inspection and subsequently issued an administrative protocol against him. Rather than complying with standard procedures, the motorist secretly filmed his interaction with the officer and uploaded the footage to his Instagram account, accompanied by critical commentary.

In the viral video, the driver openly disparaged the officers, questioning their authority and utility while making derogatory remarks about their enforcement duties. Such content is increasingly scrutinized under domestic regulations designed to protect public servants from targeted online harassment and deliberate campaigns aimed at undermining their professional reputation.

During the subsequent hearing at the Chirakchi District Criminal Court, the driver was found guilty under Article 195-2 of the Administrative Responsibility Code, which prohibits filming law enforcement personnel for the explicit purpose of discrediting them online. The court sentenced the offender to seven days of administrative detention, notwithstanding his reported expressions of remorse during the legal proceedings.
