Local authorities in the capital are continuing efforts to optimize urban traffic flow and mitigate congestion through technological interventions. A new 'Green Wave' traffic corridor has been officially launched along Fergana Highway in Tashkent.
According to reports from the Traffic Management Center, specialists successfully synchronized the operation of 13 traffic light installations across a six-kilometer stretch of the roadway. This synchronized corridor extends from the 'Kuylyuk-Ota' mausoleum past the Kuylyuk bridge all the way to the UzBUM area.
The updated traffic management regime operates around the clock, with preliminary data indicating notable improvements in transit efficiency. Measurements demonstrate that travel times during off-peak hours have decreased by approximately 25 percent, dropping from the previous 12-13 minutes down to an average of just 9 minutes.
Officials claim that this synchronization enables motorists maintaining the designated speed limit to navigate multiple intersections without stopping, thereby smoothing out traffic distribution. Fergana Highway serves as a vital arterial route entering the capital, handling heavy vehicle influxes from the Tashkent region.
