A major traffic accident involving a heavy truck and multiple passenger vehicles in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan has resulted in three fatalities and four hospitalizations. Local traffic safety authorities released the official details regarding the devastating collision.
The incident reportedly occurred on October 10 at around 09:40 on Konchilar Street in the Neftchilar neighborhood of the Bulakbashi district. According to preliminary findings, a Howo dump truck loaded with soil and driven by 48-year-old O.A., traveling along the Neftchilar-Kulla route, suffered a sudden brake failure, causing the driver to lose control of the heavy vehicle.
The runaway truck reportedly veered into the oncoming lane, crashing head-on into several cars including a Cobalt, Nexia, BYD Song Plus, and Nexia 2. Furthermore, the vehicle smashed into parked cars on the right side of the road—specifically a Nexia 3, Damas, and Matiz—while also causing substantial structural damage to roadside commercial shops.
The impact of the multi-car collision resulted in three people dying at the scene from severe injuries. The driver of the Howo truck and three other individuals sustained various injuries and were transported to the district hospital for emergency medical treatment.
Authorities report that the Investigative Department under the Bulakbashi District Internal Affairs Directorate has initiated a criminal case under Part 3, Article 266 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, concerning violations of traffic safety rules resulting in human deaths. Preliminary investigative procedures are currently underway.
