Authorities in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent are initiating a thorough inventory process covering trees and shrubs that fall outside the jurisdiction of the state forest fund. This administrative step, outlined in a recent mayoral decree, aims to evaluate the actual condition of urban greenery and improve ecological management.
According to the official provisions, the upcoming census will meticulously record the species, quantity, age, geographic coordinates, and general health parameters of every evaluated plant. Inspectors will particularly focus on identifying specimens that have been compromised by natural elements, severe weather, or persistent pests.
Furthermore, the oversight mechanism is designed to detect unstable or decaying trees that pose a direct threat to public safety, human health, and the property of both private citizens and legal entities. A specialized municipal working group is being formed to oversee the inspection process and compile a centralized registry. v
Officials confirmed that any trees identified as hazardous during the inventory will only be removed after obtaining formal permits through established legal procedures. This measure is reportedly intended to regulate vegetation management while preventing unauthorized felling across the metropolis.
