During the first eight months of the year, Uzbekistan's domestic production of automotive gasoline reached 811.3 thousand tons, marking a 4.6 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year. This manufacturing growth runs parallel to a continuing surge in the country's overall motor vehicle count, prompting authorities to address the growing demand for fuel infrastructure.

According to figures released by the National Statistics Committee, nearly five million vehicles were registered to private individuals as of July 1st. This figure represents an increase of approximately 79.4 thousand units since April 1st, with passenger cars constituting the overwhelming majority of the national fleet at 4.6 million units.

Against this backdrop of growing logistical pressure, Uzbekneftegaz and Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company SOCAR purportedly signed a cooperation agreement in August aimed at developing a modern network of filling stations across the country. The entities intend to evaluate potential locations and review suitable business models, although specific timelines and the exact number of future stations remain unannounced.

In addition to automotive gasoline, production figures for January through August included 834.3 thousand tons of diesel fuel, 425 thousand tons of crude oil, and 648.3 thousand tons of gas condensate. Meanwhile, natural gas extraction totaled 24.2 billion cubic meters alongside 4.4 million tons of coal, even as Uzbekneftegaz projects an overall reduction in annual natural gas output compared to historical figures.
