The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a resolution outlining measures for the gradual introduction of market mechanisms to ensure the uninterrupted supply of liquefied gas to the general population. These adjustments are being carried out amid ongoing energy sector reforms within the country.
According to the presidential decree, the republic's liquefied gas supply system is undergoing structural shifts. Specifically, the gas produced and imported by domestic enterprises is now required to be sold exclusively through stock exchanges, a measure purportedly aimed at streamlining distribution.
To supply citizens with liquefied gas at preferential rates, a specialized entity was established under the founding of JSC Khududgaztaminot. Starting from November 15, the retail price of liquefied gas for the population was set at 5,000 soms per kilogram, inclusive of value-added tax.
The authorities also approved regulations concerning the distribution of subsidies from the national budget to support vulnerable social groups. Families included in the Social Register and those meeting specific low-income criteria are slated to receive compensation for a portion of their gas purchase expenses until January 1, 2030.
