Traffic authorities in Tashkent have installed automated surveillance cameras along a six-kilometer stretch of the Fergana Highway in both directions. The newly placed equipment is designed to capture and penalize unauthorized private vehicles encroaching on designated public transit lanes.

According to the Center for Traffic Management, camera installations are being expanded across multiple central corridors in the capital. The primary goal of this enforcement push is to guarantee unimpeded movement for municipal buses, prevent routine schedule delays, and shorten commute times for public transit passengers.

The dedicated lanes, prominently marked with the letter "A", prohibit general traffic between 06:00 and 23:00 without explicit authorization. Private motorists frequently block these corridors during rush hours, disrupting scheduled bus timetables and worsening gridlock across the urban network.

Previously, the same section of the Fergana Highway saw the rollout of an intelligent "Green Wave" transit corridor. Traffic specialists synchronized 13 traffic light complexes across the six-kilometer span extending from the Kuyluk-ota mausoleum to UzBUM, seeking to optimize flow alongside priority transit rules.
