According to a presidential decree, a new specialized secretariat is reportedly being established within the structure of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan. The initiative allegedly aims to streamline administrative processes and strengthen coordination across the education, science, and healthcare sectors.
Reports indicate that the newly formed secretariat will consist of 12 personnel. Five staff members will be transferred from the Cabinet's Social Development Department, while the remaining seven positions will be drawn from the optimization of staff at the reorganized Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
Under the new framework, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Science will allegedly exercise general management and oversight over various executive bodies and local authorities. This includes coordinated efforts with the Ministry of Internal Affairs to prevent drug distribution within educational institutions and combat campus violence.
Furthermore, collaboration with the Youth Affairs Agency is envisioned to expand students' access to modern vocational training and patriotic education. The Cabinet of Ministers has reportedly been instructed to formally approve the operational guidelines and the statute of the new secretariat within a two-week period.
