Despite previous flat denials issued by the leadership of the State Assets Management Agency, newly emerged corporate documents indicate that national postal operator Uzbekistan Post has indeed been tied to a trust management agreement with Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries.

Back on October 8, during a high-profile press conference, agency director Sohibjon Muradov explicitly rejected media inquiries suggesting that Uzbekistan Post had been handed over to Wildberries for management. He insisted at the time that no such transfer had taken place, attempting to frame the inclusion of Wildberries representatives on the postal board merely as a consultative measure to leverage retail expertise and secure zero-interest loans.

However, corporate disclosure documents from a subsequent shareholders' meeting tell a different story, referencing a trust management contract signed with the local Wildberries subsidiary, WB INT EXPORT, in late December 2025. According to the excerpts, the managing entity was granted full shareholder rights in accordance with the legislation and the aforementioned agreement.

The current legal status and long-term implications of this transaction remain obscured amid conflicting signals from state officials. Observers point out that the discrepancy between public assurances and actual corporate filings raises serious questions regarding transparency in the management of strategic state-owned infrastructure.
