Authorities in Uzbekistan have reportedly signed a new decree aimed at supporting the agricultural sector and developing greenhouse farming across the country. Under the newly introduced measures, greenhouse enterprises are purportedly exempted from value-added tax and profit tax, a move designed to alleviate financial pressures on local producers. *
According to the official provisions, businesses deriving the majority of their income from greenhouse operations will benefit from a social tax rate reduced to 1 percent. Furthermore, land and property taxes for eligible entrepreneurial entities are set to be cut by 50 percent, creating supposedly favorable conditions for industry growth.
The initiative also addresses energy efficiency challenges by offering a 50 percent subsidy on electricity consumption during the autumn and winter months, specifically from October to March, for energy-efficient 'green' greenhouses. Additionally, residents in Tashkent region who maintain greenhouses on their household plots are slated to receive targeted financial subsidies.
