Authorities in Uzbekistan have officially introduced stringent legal penalties targeting reckless driving and aggressive road behavior. Under the updated regulations, individuals caught engaging in what is legally defined as road hooliganism will face a substantial fine equivalent to 25 times the basic calculation index (BCI).
In addition to financial penalties, the new measures stipulate that offenders will be stripped of their driving privileges for a period ranging from one to two years. According to the legislative framework, deliberately obstructing the movement of other vehicles is formally categorized as a severe driving offense.
Furthermore, the regulations explicitly classify unauthorized drifting—intentionally sliding the vehicle while maintaining a certain speed and angle—as road hooliganism. The reckless and repeated shifting across traffic lanes three or more times without valid justification is also deemed an unlawful stunt subject to punishment.
Authorities maintain that any public demonstration of driving maneuvers that openly threatens the safety of other road users will trigger these severe legal repercussions. The initiative allegedly aims to curb rising instances of aggressive behavior on the nation's roadways.
