Law enforcement authorities in the Tashkent region have reportedly dismantled a major drug trafficking group operating as part of a transnational criminal network. According to official statements, the suspects allegedly attempted to smuggle a substantial consignment of illicit narcotics across the border from a neighboring republic.

During the targeted operation, officers apprehended the previously convicted leader of the criminal ring alongside several accomplices. The suspects were purportedly caught red-handed while retrieving 13 kilograms of hashish from a hidden cache, intending to distribute the substances locally. *

In a separate incident within the Bukin district of the Tashkent region, operatives intercepted a previously convicted drug dealer during a transaction. The individual was allegedly selling two kilograms of opium to another dealer for $20,000 in cash when law enforcement moved in to make the arrest.

Authorities claim that the total weight of the confiscated narcotics amounts to roughly 75,000 single-use doses, highlighting the scale of the illegal operation and the potential hazard posed to the public.

Criminal cases have reportedly been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. All suspects have been placed in pretrial detention while the ongoing investigation attempts to uncover further details of the network.
