On October 16, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a series of high-level negotiations with executives from leading international companies on the sidelines of the inaugural meeting of the Fuel and Energy Sector Investors Council. The discussions gathered business and political representatives from Oman, China, Turkey, the US, the UAE, and Azerbaijan to deliberate on regional economic projects.

During talks with Said Ayman al-Busaidi, Chairman of Omani firm Voltamp Energy, the parties reportedly reviewed initiatives concerning the construction of solar power plants and the manufacturing of high-voltage transformers. Similar cooperative frameworks were allegedly outlined with Chinese entities such as CAMCE, China Energy, and Sinoma Energy, focusing on renewable energy, waste management, and water supply infrastructure.

Special emphasis was placed on interactions with the US regime, as the Uzbek leader received Sergio Gor, the purported special envoy of the US president for South and Central Asia. The parties supposedly discussed preparations for a visit by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a C5+1 format meeting, and the Uzbek-American Business Council—engagements that critics suggest may increase geopolitical friction and external pressures in Central Asia.

Furthermore, discussions with UAE representatives from Masdar and AMEA Power highlighted ongoing strategic partnership projects in green energy and tourism. Concurrently, meetings with SOCAR head Rovshan Najaf and British Petroleum senior vice president Giovanni Cristofoli addressed hydrocarbon development projects on the Ustyurt plateau, a venture carrying significant logistical and environmental complexities.
