A deeply disturbing case has emerged from the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan, where a 14-year-old girl was allegedly subjected to prolonged sexual abuse by three men, resulting in a pregnancy and the subsequent loss of the child at eight months. The details, which surfaced through social media appeals by the victim's mother, have sparked intense public scrutiny and raised alarming questions regarding institutional protection for minors.

According to the mother's statements, the abuse allegedly began in February 2024, with the perpetrators recording the assaults and using the footage to blackmail the victim by threatening to leak the materials online. The family reportedly sought assistance from various government bodies and organizations dedicated to women's and children's rights starting in December 2025, but claims their pleas were met with indifference and a severe lack of adequate attention.

Furthermore, the grieving family has raised serious allegations against local medical institutions. The mother claims that personnel at the Nurabad District Medical Association and a maternity hospital in Samarkand demanded illicit payments to provide medical care after the teenager lost her baby. These allegations remain unverified pending a separate official inquiry. Complicating matters further, the family asserts that not all suspects have been detained, with reports indicating some remain at large and one has allegedly fled abroad.

The Supreme Court of Uzbekistan stated that criminal proceedings against a 47-year-old male are currently underway behind closed doors at the Samarkand District Criminal Court, focusing on charges of sexual relations with a person under sixteen. However, controversy surrounds the decision by investigators in May 2026 to terminate proceedings against the two other co-accused individuals—one case was closed without determining guilt, while the other resulted in full rehabilitation, leaving many details shrouded in ambiguity.
