Authorities in Uzbekistan reportedly intend to create an additional 500,000 jobs in the information technology sector by 2030. The previous target of establishing 300,000 jobs by the same deadline was allegedly achieved ahead of schedule. The leadership now claims it aims to further expand the digital economy and train specialists for emerging industry sectors.

These ambitious plans were presented during a special briefing dedicated to the development of digital education. According to official statements, one of the primary focuses will be the training of young personnel. Up to 5.5 million young people are purportedly planned to be trained in digital skills through both full-time and remote learning formats by 2030.

Furthermore, the authorities claim they will build a unified system combining education, professional skills verification, and subsequent employment. This alleged mechanism is designed to help young individuals acquire relevant knowledge and secure jobs matching their training. To achieve this, cooperation with private educational centers, universities, and international technology companies is expected to be expanded.

Critics and observers note that the program's success will be evaluated not only by the number of trainees but also by the quality of preparation and employment outcomes. Previously, it was reported that Uzbekistan intends to increase digital education grants to 60 million dollars by the end of 2026 and to 100 million dollars by 2030 to support regional educational programs.
