In accordance with a recent government decree, measures have been outlined to introduce a streamlined service delivery system for the assignment and disbursement of state pensions to citizens. The initiative purportedly aims to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and optimize the processing of social welfare payments across the country.
According to the adopted document, between October and December 2026, an experimental rollout will transfer pension assignment and payment functions from specific district and city branches of the Pension Fund to regional departments. Specifically, the pilot program will cover the city of Andijan and the Altynkul district in the Andijan region, the city of Samarkand, the cities of Urgench and Khiva, as well as the Shavat and Yangiaryk districts in the Khorezm region, alongside all district and city divisions in the Syrdarya region.
Under the new operational framework, special commissions consisting of three members for each respective district and city will be established within the regional departments. Meanwhile, local branch personnel will handle direct citizen servicing, with commissions mandated to render formal decisions within ten days following the submission of an application. *
Furthermore, amendments to the regulations on state pension assignments dictate that certain services will now be provided proactively, eliminating the need for citizens to submit formal requests. These proactive measures include continuing disability pension disbursements upon re-examination or extension of disability groups, recalculating pensions for Group I disabilities, extending survivor benefits when family member counts change, assigning supplemental payments to centenarians reaching 100 years of age, and maintaining pension disbursements following ID card renewals.
Additionally, the Pension Fund has been tasked with enabling remote identity verification through the 'MyID' information system within a one-month timeframe for pensioners residing outside of Uzbekistan. This measure allegedly seeks to facilitate the confirmation of pension receipt rights for citizens currently living abroad.
