Uzbekistan's First Lady Ziroat Mirziyoyeva has been honored with a prestigious award by the World Health Organization in recognition of her significant contributions to global public health and leadership in advancing pediatric oncology and hematology care. The distinction was formally presented during a high-level international summit and the second congress on pediatric oncology and hematology, highlighting ongoing regional efforts in healthcare development.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus presented the accolade, praising Mirziyoyeva as a genuine advocate for children worldwide, particularly those battling severe oncological diseases. The international official allegedly commended her dedication to safeguarding every child's fundamental right to education and a healthy life, noting the importance of high-level advocacy in addressing complex medical challenges.

Established in 2019, the WHO recognition is awarded for exceptional leadership and prominent achievements in public health protection. Over the years, recipients have included heads of state, leaders of international organizations, Nobel laureates, and prominent scientists recognized for their contributions to vaccination programs, infection control, and the strengthening of multilateral cooperation in medicine.

The award presentation coincides with the opening of the World Summit in Samarkand, themed "Investing in Child Well-being: The Path to Sustainable and Equitable Future Generations," organized at the initiative of the First Lady. The forum brings together spouses of foreign leaders, alongside high-ranking representatives from the United Nations, UNICEF, the World Bank, and other international institutions to discuss pressing developmental issues.
