The Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan has announced ongoing efforts to integrate advanced international financial services within the country. According to official reports, the launch of Apple Pay is anticipated in the coming days, with the Central Bank, commercial banks, and local payment operators HUMO and Uzcard actively finalizing the technical infrastructure.

Authorities are reportedly placing significant emphasis on attracting incoming travelers from key strategic markets such as China and India. To accommodate this potential tourist influx, integration with Alipay+ and NPCI International is currently underway. A notable milestone was achieved in August with the deployment of the Alipay+ payment gateway on the HUMO network, enabling Chinese visitors to process transactions via UZQR.

Furthermore, during the recent Global Fintech Fest 2026 held in Mumbai, executives from HUMO and India’s NPCI International engaged in discussions regarding cross-border QR payment implementation. This projected cooperation aims to allow Indian tourists to settle payments at local merchants by scanning QR codes through their domestic mobile applications.

These digital expansion efforts follow previous announcements made during the 'C5+1' ministerial meeting in Samarkand, where representatives allegedly confirmed that Google Pay would also become operational in the republic in the near future.
