Authorities in Tashkent have announced a temporary traffic shutdown on the bridge crossing the Chirchik River, located at the first kilometer of the A373 highway connecting Tashkent and Osh within the capital's Bektemir district. According to information released by the Committee for Automobile Roads, the restrictions apply exclusively to the lane heading toward the Fergana Valley and will remain in effect from 08:00 on October 28 until 08:00 on October 30.
The temporary disruption is reportedly necessitated by scheduled maintenance and repair works on the infrastructure. Road maintenance crews are expected to address structural upkeep and surface integrity on this vital transport artery. Such disruptions traditionally pose logistical challenges for commuters and freight operators navigating the metropolitan area.
To mitigate potential gridlock and assist motorists, the local authorities have outlined alternative detour routes. Drivers attempting to exit Tashkent toward the Akhangaran highway will be redirected through the 47th kilometer of the Tashkent Ring Road, utilizing the 'Rohat' interchange toward Kuyluk.
Meanwhile, incoming traffic entering the capital will be rerouted via the sixth kilometer of the D012 highway, known as the 'Bektemir — Chirchik — Gazalkent — Charvak' road, moving toward Ik-ota and the Fergana highway. Motorists are strongly advised to factor in these changes and plan their commutes accordingly.
